Frozen Tears 034 (768x1024) (2)

Before the snow fell on Fairyland

the Magnolia wept frozen tears.

I marveled at the beauty of suspended sorrow.

Snowy Evening With Music 095 (768x1024) (2)

After the ground was coated in crystalline light

Music and I cast shadows

on a transformed world.

Snow Day (My Father's Cottage) 096 (768x1024) (768x1024) (2)

My father’s cottage stands in isolation

a beacon frozen in time

at the edge of Fairyland.

Ice, Gravel, Leaves 103 (1024x768) (2)

Patches of slippery ice must be tiptoed around

for fear of falling victim

to temporal beauty.

Snow and Ice (The Day After) 117 (1024x768) (3)

On the coldest morning the sun came out

and across the dog yard

lay the shadows of trees.

Ice on Gardenia Bush 111 (1024x759) (2)

Camellia leaves are a vision of frosty perfection

Though encased in ice,

they do not weep.

  1. Gel Says:

Your perspective and how you express it speaks to me ….more than “speaks to me”, it feels like deep nourishment, to a thirsty aging heart. You understand things about aging that I want to hear.

    Thank you.

A response such as yours makes my attempts at expression worth the effort. And aging is an extremely worthy topic for all of us. It needs our compassion and understanding. Bless you…
